SAT – All Round Education Academy

What is the SAT?

The most notorious of all entrance exams, the SAT is widely known to be a challenging exam that requires students to understand the functions of mathematics and English to an exceptional level. The mark for this examination is derived from these criteria:

  • Composed of four sections – Writing and Language, Reading, Math, and an optional essay
  • Marked out of 1600; 800 points for Math, 400 for Writing and Language, 400 for Reading
  • All questions are multiple choice with four options
  • Each question guessed incorrectly has no mark deduction
  • Requires knowledge of grammatical rules and language use in context, logic in the mathematics section, and critical analysis skills in the essay
  • Used for qualification for the National Merit competition

This examination has been known to require multiple attempts due to its difficulty. Knowing this, we provide our students with appropriate materials, such as overviews on mathematical and grammar rules, which are supported further with close past paper analysis and practice. From this, our students have excelled, achieving marks that have allowed them to competitively apply for top U.S. universities within the Ivy League.

Any of the two examinations - the ACT and the SAT - taken are equally valid in any US university application. One test is not preferred over the other. Candidates should therefore consider what their strengths and weaknesses are before choosing to proceed with one out of the three. We at AREA have years of experience in this field, and can help you choose the best option to secure your future in a free consultation.
